Welcome to Year 5KH!

Our Class Teacher is Miss Katy Haygarth and our Teaching Assistant is Mrs Cheryl Dunn

 

Over the next academic year, we will create a wide range of work linking with a variety of different topics. Topics this half term include:

English – The Magic Paintbrush Unit, Descriptive Writing, Significant Children’s Authors Unit

Maths – Place Value, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, 2D and 3D Shapes.

Geography – American Adventure

R.E. – Sikhism

P.E. – Invasion Games

Art and D&T – Native Americans

MFL – Spanish

 

General Information

- Spellings are given on a Monday and are tested on a Friday.

- P.E. is on a Wednesday this half term.

- Homework is given out on a Thursday and is to be returned the next Monday.

- Times tables will be tested weekly. 

- Home Reading books will be changed on a regular basis. 

 

Miss Katy Haygarth Year 5 Teacher Hello, my name is Miss Haygarth and I am the Year 5 Class Teacher. I consider myself to be a creative person and I love to plan and teach Design & Technology as well as Art. I encourage my children to have a positive attitude to learning, to always try their very best and take pride in their achievements at school. At Stanhope, I try to play an active role to school life and I am currently involved with the Supporters of Stanhope PTFA. I am also the RE Co-ordinator and run the Eco Club with Mrs Dunn.
